Next Up, A Snazzy Pouch For My Dentures.
Actually, getting the girls their own cell phones was just an excuse to make these:
Yes, that's right. I crochet. Because like most 80-year-olds, there's nothing I like better to do than grab my hook and yarn, kick back with a prune smoothie and turn on some Murder, She Wrote reruns.
Stop laughing. Don't make me come over there and crochet you an afghan.

So cute! Please make me an afgan! I would love to crochet or knit, but counting isn't my strong suit.
ReplyDeleteAs for the phones, I totally understand why you got them. I approve.
My husband once came home to my mom and I stting on the couch knitting and watching Murder She Wrote. Mom's tv choice not mine. She did not see the look on his face, but I sure wish I had a camera to catch it.
ReplyDeleteThose cell phone holders are very cute!
You DO have secret craftiness!!!! I knew it! I want to crochet something similar for my MP3 player but don't know how to get started. Of course, I also want to felt it, which adds a whole 'nother layer of complexity just to make myself miserable and ensure it never gets done.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cute.
those are really cute......I too like to crochet and knit and cross stitch and such
ReplyDeleteGot a pattern for me to use????
Oh they're cute. And crocheting gives you something to do while you're watching the six o'clock news before bed :)
ReplyDeleteDORKS UNITE!!!
ReplyDeleteOoooh - I want one!
ReplyDelete(Hey - I used to love Murder She Wrote.)

Iris: I don't have a pattern, because I don't know how to use them. I just fly by the seat of my pants (and those would be a pair of lovely crochet bell-bottoms.)
ReplyDeleteOh, the joys: WHO YOU CALLIN A DORK? Now if you'll excuse me I have to go finish that pocket-protector I've been working on.
They are so, so cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am very envious as I am totally useless with anything like that - crocheting, knitting, needlework - it's all I can do to put on a button and hem my pants (and that's pushing it).
Okay, I want an afghan. WHere do i sign up?
ReplyDeleteAnd those cell phone holders are too cute. Love them. I want one! I have a cell phone that is sans a holder.
well you know i knit, so i am just sitting here feeling all smug that another sharp chick is already on the dark side. i might just learn to crochet so i can make one of those. did you make up the pattern?
ReplyDeleteI lack the skill to crochet so I cross-stitch, the even more old-ladyish alternative.
ReplyDeletePlease crochet me an afgan! I'm still using the one my Aunt made me when I went away to college and I don't want to think about how long ago that was!
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could crochet, but alas it isn't my forte.

Those are cute! And fun!
ReplyDeleteI get the phone thing- we're considering the firefly for our elementary school kid because we both work in New York and want her to be able to contact us if she needs to. AND? I love those cell phone holders and would like to see what you could do for a Blackberry.,
ReplyDeleteI would like to know how the crafty gene seemed to skip right over me. I'm totally envious of anyone who can do anything more than sew a button on, because I can't even manage that.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the cell phone bags. A lot.
crochet an afghan?
ReplyDeletecan you do it in Scarlet and Gray??
:)
*squeeeal* Super cuute!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! So cute!!! I love your blog!
ReplyDeletethose are actually cute! I hope the girls like them.
ReplyDeleteAdorable...
ReplyDeleteAdorable.
ReplyDeleteI knit, and sometimes admit I feel like an old lady, all hunched over my yarn and needles.
I WANT ONE! In orange. :)
ReplyDeleteIf I come over, I'll just bring my knitting needles...thanks. But don't hog that prune smoothie and save me a place on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteOne question - can the denture pouch double as an iPod case? I'll take two.
ReplyDeleteYou know what I buy at the craft fair our local high school holds each year at Christmastime????
ReplyDeleteCrocheted dish cloths. I love them. I wish I knew how to do that!!!
Carrie
I'm actually jealous because I started to learn to knit and just gave up. What is the difference between knitting and crocheting exactly?
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love the little eye and mouth holes!!
If I laugh really, really hard, will you make me two afghans?
ReplyDelete:)
Those are actually kind of cute!!! I like them :)
ReplyDeleteHow about a doiley? I could use one of those.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome. And hello, can I join your senior center group? I realized I was officially old the other day when I noticed they were building a club called "Shooters" down the street. My first reaction wasn't, "Awesome! Now I won't have to drive home drunk; I can walk!" Instead it was, "Great. Hello police sirens at 3 am."
ReplyDeletethey look like sweet little faces with nice pointy ears! i love!!!!
ReplyDeleteI got a cell phone in May and it makes things much easier. Then we got to cancel the home phone cause we both carry cells now.
ReplyDeleteWould you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make me a little pouch? I will pay for it! My favorite color is purple, but any color would be fantastic.
Cassie
haha--very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love it, b/c they're kind of cute, but also kind of freaky looking. The square mouths give them a robotic look that belies the fuzziness of the crocheting. I mean this all in a good way.
ReplyDeleteThose are CUTE! I linked to your blog from Manical Days.
ReplyDeleteWell, while you're at it, how about something to cover my head too?
ReplyDeleteYou can write like nobody's business and you can also crochet! Woman! Is there something you can't do?! And yeah, crochet me an afghan...I dared you!
ReplyDeleteThose are so cute!! I can crochet a little myself, but I don't have the attention span to get past 3 rows....
ReplyDeleteI'm so jealous. I can only do table doilies and pot holders. You've GOTTA show me how you make a cell phone pouch...and with a miniature face no less!
ReplyDeleteVery cute! You're a chic with many talents. blogging AND knitting. You should start a company and sell this stuff.
ReplyDeleteNice weekend

Those look like a man thong I once saw. You're too young to be crocheting.
ReplyDeleteI almost typed crotching. *snort*
